11 easy miles on my bff the treadmill

10 miles, 2 warm up 6@tempo, 2 cool down
After a few funky weeks, it was nice to get back into some speed work

Thursday

21.01 miles
Got me some new kicks 

Love me some Chicago summer sunsets


I don't really have any major goals for this next week. Got some mile repeats on the books, and that is really the most exciting workout to look forward to.

Oh yes, and my new neon orange boyfriend Newton and I will have a few short dates this week and slowly become more comfortable with one another before I leave those trusty Brooks in the past. Full review to come in a few weeks.

  4. Wow, wow, wow! Your mileage always blows me away!
    I just ordered the Brooks T7 Racer. They're minimal and I will ease into them with some shorter runs and my speedwork on the treadmill. I can't wait to see how you like the Newtons.

    Gosh, I still can't get over that weekly mileage! You rock!

  9. I look forward to hearing more about your experience with the Newtons. Have you thought of adding a page for training related posts? I ask because I just came up to speed with week 1 - 8 the hard way using the archive. I vote for an interval day next week, maybe progressive 400, 800, 1200, etc... or just a lot of 400s - with the Newtons of course. Can we vote on your training for next week?

  14. Great miles girl! I tried to comment on your wicked awesome tempo the other day but my phone wouldn't let me sign into your blog for some reason. Back to that post quickly. That was some fantastic writing there. I bookmarked it. Very great job of sharing your thoughts. Oh-and 21 @7:38. SH*T!!!

    I wonder if there will ever come a day that I view mile repeats as an exciting workout. Let me think....NOPE-not likely. I will say I'm finally coming around with the speed a tiny bit lately. Not fast but I really enjoyed my track workout last week (afterwards) and oddly I am looking forward to my 800's this week more than my progression run which is generally my favorite...

    Have fun with Newton. Hope he treats you well. I just don't have it in me to cheat on Brooks quite yet:) If he screws me over this fall, we'll see-ha!
