Received an email yesterday that my "race photos" from Sunday were ready for my viewing. I don't photograph well while running, but I thought that I would take at peek at the overpriced photos that I wasn't going buy anyhow.
After this fugly race photo from 2010:

I pretty much gave up any expectation of great action shots years ago. Running and beauty apparently just do not go together for me.

When I look at that photo above the only thing that pops into mind is "I think I can. I think I can. I think I can."

I'm also super cool where no matter how much pain I am in upon crossing the finish line, the first thought that crosses my mind will always be "must...stop...garmin...".

I also like to play ballerina as my pre-race ritual apparently.
And make cool faces at the Millennium Park Bean.

Yay!!! Big smiles over here! So excited!!
ReplyDeleteLove all the pictures. I think you look HOT!!!!!!! The ballerina pic is cute. I want that top :)
ReplyDeleteCongrats to Michel!!!
ReplyDeleteI love your photos. They show how hard you were working! And love the ballerina one. That bright pink top... I can't stop looking at it... it's mesmerizing!
I was actually going to do a post about this today as well... But you beat me to it!!
ReplyDeleteIf your photos are fugg... Then oh lord I wonder what you'd call mine!?! :)
I'll be sending mine over soon.
I emailed you my photos! Like Kim said, you look like you're working hard in your pics! I can't wait to see the fruits of this photo request!
ReplyDeleteawesome!! i think my photos from the shamrock are worse. eyes closed in almost all of them. made me finally hire a professional photographer to take running pix of me next week on the trail. and I WILL BE SMILING for those :D
ReplyDeletei always look so serious in mine like I am pissed off or something. I usually have on my sunglasses so that eliminates the closed eye look. i try to smile if I see the photo guy but he usually misses his cue
ReplyDeleteOh I wish I'd won that half marathon entry so that I could come visit and run with you and Xaarlin (my two chicago blog friends) in Chicago haha :)
ReplyDeleteI totally feel your pain. I'm running a half in about 2 weeks and one of my goals is to actually get some decent photos at the end!
ReplyDeleteI almost think it is impossible to get a good race pic from me. Your look good and your way speedy. Nice work!
ReplyDeletebtw LOVE your shoes!
Sarah
I have a hard time getting good race pictures too. I always look like I'm dying. Haha.
ReplyDeleteLOVE these pics girl! SO not fugly at all :-D
ReplyDeleteOh, man...I just found a priceless one online from the Atlanta half where I genuinely look like I'm picking my nose. I'll have to send that one to you ;)
ReplyDeleteI agree about the pink ballerina top. It's adorable! I love anything bright. Your race pics are great. I swear I never even look at mine because I usually have bad form and some sort of gel spilled all over myself..scary.
