Chicago Half Marathon Giveaway Winner

Thanks to everyone who entered the Chicago Half Marathon giveaway. The consensus for the best summertime activities seems to be a mix of BBQ-ing, eating the great seasonal produce while it lasts, and spending time soaking in the sun.

For me, my favorite summertime activity would hands down be getting in all of my miles lakeside and jumping in good old Lake Michigan to cool off when it gets a bit too steamy. Nothing more refreshing. Love the nautical side of Chicago.

Without further ado...the winner of the Chicago Half Marathon on September 9th, 2012 is

a girl after my own heart, Noodles from Patches & Paws

Email me at and I'll send along all the necessary info for you to redeem your complementary Chicago Half Marathon entry.

  1. Congrats Noodles!

I love jumping in to cool water after a run! Nothing is better!

  2. Congrats!! Have a blast during the half!

I seriously considered the mucky pond down the road this weekend. And iced bath was on deck instead :)

  3. It's been years since I ran on the lakefront, miss the scenic views and the opportunity for a Lake Michigan swim!

  4. Congrats to Noodles!

Oh, I'm so jealous you get to run on the lakefront all of the time. My boyfriend lives in the southwestern suburbs and I love it when I get to visit him and race along the lakefront. Enjoy the view while you're running!

  5. Hi! First off congrats on maintaing a great physical activity level and accomplishing lots of hard races. I have seen your blog on a few times and notice you have lots of followers. You a re a beautiful girl but your blog is very self -absorbed.

You may advertise eating healthy and running to have "fun" but your body type is extremely thin and I don't think what you are promoting is healthy for other women to see. It brainwashes other girls to think that they need to look like that in order to be happy and run fat and hard.

IF your points were valid enough you would not need to put picture of yourself in your sports bra with thin rail arms. You do have an amazing body but I can say that what your promoting is now healthily.

Your followers may be gaga over you only because they are envious of you and think that if they read your blog it will motivate them to run 80 miles a week and barely eat. when I first saw your pictures I thought to myself when I first read this that WOW i need to run more. Instead of inspiring me I kept looking at your stomach and seeing wow you have to look like that to be a good runner.

God doesn't want girls focusing on worldly things. He wants us to focus on being healthy and doing everything for him. If you are running 80 miles a week for the glory of God and putting pictures of yourself half naked for Him then I respect that. You can still get your running points accross and get comments without taking self absorbed pictures.

    1. Thanks for your feedback, however I think you need to remember that this is my blog where I write about my adventures and share my story. So yes there will be photos of me and I will talk about my experiences. Blogs are a narsastic thing where the author usually seem self absorbed because there can be limited information given as they continually blab on and on about themselves. I think from the outside looking in its easy to judge others because on here I show you only what I choose about my life. I am what I am and I'm not what I'm not, and that isn't going to change whether someone likes me or not, thinks I'm too thin, or doesn't care for my opinions. I'm completely comfortable with the person I am, and would encourage you to do a bit of your own soul searching to learn to love yourself and not compare who you are to anyone else. We are all different shapes and sizes where the quality of our character has little to do with the size of ones arm.

As a Christian woman, I never think its healthy to play God and feel that it's my place to judge another human. We are all imperfect in one way or another.

Take care and be confident in the beautiful person you are.
